Round 3 Results V Parramatta
Was a round where several players turned in memorable performances
across all grades. In Ones, Cameron Eve again proved himself to be a genuine allrounder, taking
6/70 and scoring 99. Dave Ball-Bags also marked his return to the top grade with a timely 82. In threes, the McCarthy-Jacob
partnership went a long way in securing the 6 points for NDs, chasing a sizeable 370 for victory. Ev scored 175, with shots
to all parts, while BJ chipped in with a lazy 102. The week before Benny Jacob again contributed, snaring 4 Parra wickets.
Fourth Grade also saw NDs chasing a sizey 320 for the win, and things were looking good with the score at 6-275, however the
wheels fell off in the latter stages, and alas the 6 points went to Parramatta. The run chase was led by NDs newcomer Seb
Reid, who turned a few heads with his 94. Luke Montgomery also went well, scoring 82. Captain James Alcorn did his bit also,
taking two wickets at vital stages. In Fives, the standout individual performance was by Dean McNamara, who took 6/65 in a
superb spell of fast bowling. Equally impressive was Spoon's ability to bowl consistently over his 26 overs. Dave Freney also
enjoyed his time at the crease, knocking up 61 on Day 1.
